CYP Emotional and mental health survey
This annual survey is designed by young people who have directly or indirectly been involves with emotional and mental health issues. Their focus was on availability and accessibility of services. They wanted to find out what other young people felt they needed, to what extent they were able to find suitable services and how well they thought they performed
We helped them to design the first questionnaire and to make changes to it in subsequent years. I covers:
- Who young people can comfortably talk to about emotions and mental health
- The effects of the pandemic were covered recently
- The availability of services that were needed
- The usefulness of services that were used
- Young people's preferences for being informed about what resources were available
- The awareness, use and value of web based resources
As well as driving the design of the survey projects, young people are active participants in communicating and encouraging participation. They use the results to write the reports and take part in events with service providers to discus the results.
As with all the surveys we support, user driven methods are in place for communicating with all interested parties and so that progress can be monitored throughout the collection process. As soon as the survey is completed the different strands of data are collected in a series of reports and spreadsheets, which can be downloaded
There is a free demonstration survey that can be made available.
